Profile of Graduates of the Program
The profile of graduates is of professionals committed to human, global, national and local sustainable development; they will be capable of carrying out (considering professional ethics and criteria of excellence), production, communication, organization and planning works in the field of knowledge and development of Phyiscs, with special dedication to dominating their chosen area (theoretical, experimental or applied). They will have a wide knowledge of the fields of study and of the most significant advances in Physics. They can carry out original cutting-edge research. They will be trained to identify and evaluate problems in basic research and/or strategies for their resolution (according to their area of expertise). They can organise and direct research in the area using their own initiative, becoming generators of original research articles. In the area of teaching, the graduates will be able to contribute to programs of study with diverse theoretical concepts, techniques and methodologies. They will be able to participate in the formation of human resources for teaching and/or research. They will be able to communicate knowledge in related areas to the content of the program of study and they can exercise their profession with diverse social bodies, and represent it with scientific, methodological and social arguments before the relevant institutions. They will be trained to keep up to date with advances, while exercising their profession, as they have been trained in the management of multiple sources of information.
Requirements to graduate
To obtain the grade of Doctor in Science in Physics, apart from the requirements established in article 77 of the General Regulations of Postgraduate Programs of the University of Guadalajara, the student should satisty the following requirements
- Pass an exam in the English language (written and oral comprehension)
- Have at least one scientific article (recognised in the Science Citation Index) accepted or published, which is a product of their doctoral thesis.
